WAS Erosion technology

Water Abrasive Suspension (WAS) erosion technology

The Water Abrasive Suspension (WAS) erosion technology uses a high pressure water jet and a sharp-edged abrasive garnet to erode various materials from stubborn coatings on hard surface to solid steel.

Fields of application

  • Removal of deposits and deformations in pipes
  • Removal of stubborn deposits from surfaces

Key Features

  • Small/micro cuttings
  • Low reactive torque
  • Erodes any material or structure

How does the WAS erosion technology work?

Depending on various factors, such as the pressure and concentration of the water abrasive suspension supplied and the number and arrangement of the nozzles used, different degrees of erosion effects can be achieved.

Current use and further development

The most important area of application is erosion of restrictions in wells in the oil and gas industry.

The further development and adaptation of this technology for other areas of application is an exciting task within the scope of our research & development.
